According to the judges it was a "very brave step to rename and rebrand an organisation that can trace its roots back to 1915, but the execution is very good and results look extremely promising".
We decided to change our brand in order to help people better understand what we do and support us. Since we changed our name in February 2012 more people say they would support the charity, and more new supporters respond to our fundraising campaigns. We now receive increased interest from companies and the media as a result of being a clearer brand that better explains our cause.
In becoming Blind Veterans UK we worked with our supporters, staff and members as well as potential donors and other organisations to understand if and how we should change. We are grateful to have worked with branding agencies Spencer du Bois (through the rebranding phase) and Provokateur (through the early stages), and would like to thank them for their advice, expertise and professionalism.
