Top award from the Ministry of Defence

Published on 12 Sept 2023

We are extremely proud to have been awarded a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award by the Ministry of Defence.

We achieved the highest honour of Gold in recognition of the positive role we play in supporting the Armed Forces community and our alignment with the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.

It builds on our Silver Award from 2022 as we become one of only 193 Gold recipients in 2023.

In order to achieve the award, certain criteria had to be met including creating a positive environment for reservists, encouraging suppliers to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, and giving veterans every opportunity to apply for vacancies.

"As a charity that supports veterans, it’s so important that we not only offer the highest level of service to our beneficiaries but also ensure that our organisation is set up to support the wider military family. So we’re delighted to have achieved this award that celebrates all the hard work that we’ve done to make this happen."

Yvonne continues: “As part of our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces we are happy to share our experience and offer guidance to any organisation which is looking to apply for an award themselves. Just get in touch and we can support you.”
