We have a superb opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to be responsible for overseeing our health and safety practices throughout the charity. You will ensure appropriate assessment, understanding, management and assurance of the issues and risks, as well as driving continuous improvement and cultural development across all areas.
The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety policy and process, a NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant experience, preferably in the care sector. Based from home, you will act as a Business Partner, regularly liaising with our teams across the Community, in our London Headquarters and in our two Centres in Brighton and Llandudno.
You will be experienced in drafting and updating health and safety policies and guidance and you’ll ensure our staff understand their responsibilities. You will also ensure timely and accurate recording of accidents, incidents and near misses and drive forward all actions needed to manage and minimise risk.
As part of your role, you will work with colleagues across the charity who organise and run our fundraising and other events, to ensure thorough risk assessments are carried out and all necessary steps are taken to ensure the safety of the public, our employees and our Blind Veterans.
Confident, friendly, resilient and an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels. You will be IT literate, outcome focussed and able to prioritise and manage your time effectively.
