Blind Veterans UK supports blind and visually impaired ex-service men and women, offering a range of services to enable them to retain their independence. We believe that no one who has served their country should battle blindness alone.

Could you enthusiastically promote and facilitate a wide range of activities to support our members’ rehabilitation programme? You would also strive to ensure all our blind veterans feel a sense of wellbeing, purpose and family during their time at the Centre, providing practical support and information for within our Centre at Llandudno.  Our members are former members of the armed forces who visit for holidays, events or specific rehabilitation to overcome the challenges of severe sight loss and, in some cases, additional disabilities. 

The successful applicant will have experience of organising and facilitating activities, and worked with vulnerable people previously to maximise their well-being. You will have nationally recognised qualification in fields such as health and social care, sports, recreation, IT, or art and an understanding of the rehabilitation process and its impact on people with disability.

Experience of working with the elderly, people with sight loss or other disabilities would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be able to multi task and have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be a confident user of technology and have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.  A full UK driver’s licence is essential.
