Maternity Cover (9 -12 month fixed term contract)
24 hours per week, including occasional unsociable hours, travel and overnight stays.
This varied, challenging and active role involves working in a team to plan and deliver our Rehabilitation Service’s sports and wellbeing programme, tailored to individuals and groups with a variety of needs at our Brighton Centre and beyond. This position involves developing effective strategies to boost confidence, promote healthy choices, fitness and to encourage participation in physical activity.
Our blinded veterans are former members of the armed forces whom either live in the centre or are visiting for holidays, events or specific training to overcome the challenges of severe sight loss. We work with many frail older people as well as those who are working-age, motivating our veterans to go beyond what they may have believed possible.
The ideal Sports & Wellbeing Instructor will be confident, friendly, proactive and able to design and deliver bespoke programmes for people with vision impairment. They will be an engaging, sociable team player who will use superb interpersonal skills to encourage our members to engage fully in their chosen goals.
This position is subject to enhanced disclosure and barring service checks
