Nick Caplin CB
Chief Executive Officer

Director of Operations (East)
Mark joined Blind Veterans UK in May 2011 as a centre manager. He is now the Director of Operations (East), and is responsible for delivering a range of welfare, training and rehabilitation services to a wide range of beneficiaries.Mark Lovatt on LinkedIn
Director of Operations (West)

Director of Fundraising
Matt has been part of Blind Veterans UK since June 2016. He is responsible for developing and delivering fundraising strategy, including major donors and corporate partnerships, as well as individual giving and gifts in wills.Matt Parkes on LinkedIn
Director of Engagement
Ann-Mari joined Blind Veterans UK in July 2016 and leads the Engagement directorate. She is responsible for external and internal communications, as well as volunteering and member services.Ann-Mari Freebairn on LinkedIn
Chief of Staff
Nathan joined Blind Veterans UK in 2015 as the Assistant Director Strategy & Governance. He is now the charity’s Chief of Staff, and is responsible for leading the charity through its transition to a new operating model.
Director of Estates and Planning
David joined Blind Veterans UK in 2009. He is the Director of Estates and Planning, and is responsible for the charity's property holdings and supporting blind veterans with property related issues. His team manage the charity’s HQ and support maintenance at the centres. He is also responsible for transport and health and safety.
Director of Resources
Ian first joined Blind Veterans UK in 2010. His teams look after the resources of the charity such as the money, information systems and people. His finance team manage cash flow to make sure the charity can meet its day-to-day operational requirements and is therefore able to provide support to our blind veterans.
Assistant Director to HR
Sue joined Blind Veterans in 2005 and leads the Volunteering, Learning & Development, HR and Payroll teams. Her motto is ‘if your job is not rewarding challenging and fun you are doing it wrong’.
