Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some weekend working required

We’re looking for an inspirational individual to lead a multi-functional team managing our facilities and transport offer.  In doing so, you will be responsible for delivering a high quality and continually improving customer service facility which provides a safe environment for our members and customers – and an equally high-quality working environment for our staff.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring high quality conditions within the centre and grounds – ensuring they are fully accessible and compliant to all relevant legislation
  • Overseeing the operations of site security and maintenance
  • Responsibility for the safe transportation of members and other beneficiaries to and from the Centre through a team of Transport Services Drivers and the use of the Charity’s vehicles
  • Management of relevant external contractors and any centre works undertaken
  • Compliance with organisational/facilities related policies, procedures and service standards, liaising with our Health and Safety (and other relevant peers)
  • Ensuring all facilities related work is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessments
  • Acting as the responsible and accountable person for the effective management and monitoring of the water system in accordance with the Legionella Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8.        

As our Facilities Lead, you will have excellent leadership skills which engages, inspires, and motivates the team in delivering first class provision to our Blind Veterans. You will be a positive influencer, able to demonstrate confidence, motivation, and commitment. We expect high levels of integrity and behaviours consistent with our values and culture statement. 

You will have experience of managing facilities services and hold a nationally recognised diploma or degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field. You will have knowledge of the legislation and regulation that govern the areas as outlined above. In addition, you will have excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Finally, you will hold or demonstrate a commitment to work towards a level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
