Reception / Security Assistant - 18.75 hours per week/Fixed term contract

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, personable and proactive Receptionist/Security Assistant with superb interpersonal skills to provide a high quality service to all our visitors, residents and staff.  This fixed term role is a for minimum of six months. 

You’ll be a polite, conscientious and flexible individual, with a real customer focus.  You’ll have a professional telephone manner, essential PC skills, including a working knowledge of MS Outlook and the ability to keep calm under pressure. You’ll be reliable, tactful and diplomatic with a flexible, proactive approach to your work.

You’ll work as part of our security team and will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers to our centre. You’ll operate our switchboard, tannoy and room booking systems.  You’ll also provide a porter service, distribute mail and carry out security checks and patrols. Previous switchboard, reception or security experience is not completely essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.  An understanding of data protection legislation, fire safety and security systems would be an advantage. Previous experience of working with visually impaired, elderly or disabled people would also be an advantage.

The position will involve working on a rolling shift roster to include weekend and bank holiday working. (Shift times are 6.00 am to 2.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm).  There will also be requirement to cover occasional night shifts.

This role is based within a CQC registered care home. It is a legal requirement that all employees will need to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated in order to protect our residents.
