The British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) brought the spectacular action at this year’s British Military Tournament to listeners based worldwide.

BFBS captured the sights and sounds of the two-day event that showcased the very best in military performances. 600 members of the Armed Forces thrilled audiences with musical, equestrian, Skill at Arms displays and the famous Field Gun Competition.

BFBS Presenter Mike Howarth was broadcasting live from the main arena and backstage at Earl's Court on Saturday 8th December from 11 until 2pm.

"The British Military Tournament never fails to impress and this year was no exception-hats off to everybody involved in both performing and backstage," said Mike.

"What an incredibly talented group of people and horses. It was a privilege to be able to spend so much time with those involved and get a real insight into the efforts that go into making the show such a success. Roll on next year!"

BFBS reporters contributed live coverage to BFBS Gurkha Radio and Sim Courtie's Sunday afternoon show to bring the event to listeners throughout the weekend.

A team from BFBS also manned the station's two trailers in the exhibition area to hand out goodies and speak to personnel and the public, while staff from BFBS Technology maintained the links and equipment for the outside broadcast.
