Over the past months, there has been a longstanding rivalry between residents of RNIB care home, Wavertree House and members of Blind Veterans UK.

Back in June a group of blind veterans and members of staff went to the  RNIB care home, Wavertree House, in Hove for a general knowledge quiz challenge! Blind Veterans UK left victorious and team Captain, 92 year old Clifford Gower, was presented with the winner's trophy.
On Saturday 14 September, the rematch took place, with the residents of Wavertree House visiting the Blind Veterans UK Brighton centre for the second leg of the quiz tournament. A group of 11 residents from the RNIB care home came to challenge our members who were raring to go to defend their title.

Activities Coordinator Natasha Cartwright said: "Our team were too strong for them and we retained the cup. It was a really fun evening enjoyed by all, especially as Blind Veterans UK came away with the winner's trophy!"

The challenge took place as the centre celebrated it's 75th anniversary and followed on from the Heritage Open Dayof our 1930's centre and our annual Vintage Fete.
