As we approach the festive season our community fundraising team in Brighton is kicking off the Christmas season with many different events which hope to raise as much as possible for Blind Veterans UK.
This year, Rachel Chitty, regional fundraiser, was joined by Coastline Harmony, a Brighton based women's chorus who sing and enjoy four part unaccompanied harmony. The choir was founded in 1973 and kindly supported Blind Veterans UK at Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton, singing carols and raising awareness of the work of Blind Veterans UK.
We were also kindly supported by St Christopher's School based in Hove, a member of the Brighton college family of schools, where school children sung their hearts out alongside their teacher.
All money raised on the day will go towards the work at our Brighton centre, which s located outside a small village, Ovingdean, which is four miles outside Brighton. It was built for us in the 1930s and designed for blind veterans and this year celebrates its 75th anniversary.
In the coming weeks we have been lucky enough to have been allocated collection spots throughout London and we need volunteers to come along to help out. If you are interested in any of the following opportunities please email our fundraising team or call Aaron on 0207 616 7927.
