Blind Veterans UK calls on adventurous 'soles' for Fire Walk challenge

12 June 2014 11:30

We are calling all adventurous members of the public to take part in a Fire Walk challenge to raise money for blind military veterans at our Llandudno centre.

We will be running a fire walking event at our Llandudno centre on Queen's Road on Saturday 8 November. Registration for the challenge, which will see participants walk across hot coals to raise funds for blind veterans, has opened and we are now looking for daredevils of all ages to take part.

Regional Fundraiser Victoria Beech said: "We love to be able to offer our supporters exciting ways in which they can fundraise for us - and what could be more exciting than overcoming your fears and crossing a smouldering 15ft bed of hot coals?"

The Fire Walk will be organised by nationally-renowned providers 'UK Fire Walking' and will be an extremely rewarding experience, helping participants boost their confidence and achieve something truly amazing for a great cause. The event is open to ages 8 years and over.

Those wishing to take part are asked to pay a £25 registration fee and pledge to raise a total of £50 in sponsorship. To encourage participation, Blind Veterans UK will be offering registration for the event at the reduced rate of £5 to those who attend the Llandudno centre's annual Garden Party on Sunday 29th June. Places are already going fast, so don't miss out!
