4 October 2012 11:46
Blind Veterans UK, Llandudno centre is hoping for the opportunity to receive a share of £25,000 in the Daily Post WISH campaign.
The WISH campaign gives nearly 200 charities the chance to receive a fantastic gift, which for the Blind Veterans UK Llandudno centre, would fund the creation of a sensory garden to help blind ex-Service men and women.
WISH tokens are currently being printed in the Daily Post Wales every day until Monday 19th November 2012. If you want to support blind veterans just collect the tokens daily and send them to the following address:
Blind Veterans UK
The closing date of token submission will be 7th January 2013, so please make sure you post off all your tokens before this deadline. The Daily Post Wales will decide which charities receive a share of the £25,000 funding on 22ndJanuary, so we will let you know of any success then.
Mark Lovatt of the Blind Veterans UK Llandudno centre says; 'we believe that no one who's served our country should battle blindness alone. That's why we're here to help with a lifetime's practical and emotional support. We hope WISH 2012 can help us develop a sensory garden for use by our members.'
Mark hopes to also have raised flower beds so that veterans can smell the scents of the plants and flowers, and hopefully they can contribute to the planting in the garden.
Remember to start collecting your tokens now and send them off before 7th January 2013. For the Blind Veterans UK Llandudno centre it would be an extra celebration on top of the first anniversary of it's opening this month.
