Blind Veterans UK have pledged support to Carers Week which takes place every year to recognise and celebrate the work done by unpaid carers in the UK.

We are pleased to announce that Blind Veterans UK has pledged our support to Carers Week, 9-15 June 2014.

Carers Week takes place every year in June to recognise and celebrate the work done by 6.5 million unpaid carers in the UK. It also aims to reach out to 'hidden carers' who may not be aware of all the services that are available to them.

Blind Veterans UK provides free services and vital support to ex-Service men and women with sight loss, along with their families and carers. We are currently helping over 5,000 veterans and family members, but we know that there are thousands more that could benefit from our services. By taking part in Carers Week we want to reach out to all the veterans and families that are eligible for our support, so that we can help them all live their lives to the full.

During Carers Week, 9-15 June, we'll be attending a number of regional events and raising awareness of the important work done by the carers of vision-impaired ex-Service men and women by telling their stories in the media. Keep checking our website for more information and updates.
