Brighton tucks into The Big Lunch

Members, staff, volunteers and holidaymakers filled up at the Blind Veterans UK Big Lunch at our centre in Brighton.
Staff, members, volunteers, residents and holiday makers all took part in a scrumptious Big Lunch at the Blind Veterans UK Brighton centre. The Big Lunch can take place any time throughout the year but our Brighton centre was treated to a sunny day which was taken full advantage of, with a big lunch table set up outside.
The event started with jive dancing in the lounge, where members could enjoy watching and learning new steps. The lunch goers then moved outside for a picnic lunch of ploughman's and finished with biscuits handmade by members of the charity.
Brighton centre manager Lesley Garven joined in the celebrations which take place during the 75th anniversary of the Brighton building. Throughout 2013 staff, members, volunteers and all involved with the centre will be holding different challenges and events to mark the milestone occasion, which officially takes place in October.
The Big Lunch will roll on into afternoon tea with the group going on to enjoy Scones which have been baked by members of Blind Veterans UK - And don't they look mouth-watering!
