Former Staff Sergeant in the Army, Billy Baxter travelled from Llandudno where he works at Blind Veterans UK centre to carry the Olympic Torch at Bury St.Edmonds. Crowds of spectators including his family were gathered round to cheer him on.
Billy said of the event: "It was an absolute honour to run with the torch. The turn out and energy from the crowds was amazing and to spend quality time with my family at Bury St.Edmonds was the best feeling I could ask for. Since running with the torch I have not stopped meeting and greeting the general public - everyone is transfixed by the torch and I am happy it raises awareness for Blind Veterans UK".
