Extreme Tea Party launches 'Tarts for Troops'

Five vision impaired ex-Service men were among a group of intrepid people who braved snow, high wind and freezing temperatures to have an ‘extreme’ tea party on the summit of Mount Snowdon.
The event was to launch the Tarts for Troops fundraising campaign in support of Blind Veterans UK.
Billy Baxter - one of the blind veterans and a member of staff at Blind Veterans UK charity, formerly St Dunstan's, said "It was cold and wet with snow underfoot - the kind of conditions which we wanted for an extreme tea party, We just hope it inspires other people to hold fundraising tea parties as part of the Tarts for Troops campaign" he said.
Looking forward to Blind Veterans Week (June 18-24) he added: "By getting involved with Tarts for Troops you can do your bit for those who have served our country . Get your cookbooks out or just buy some tarts for a Tarts for Troops party."
