Local Llandudno artist donates glass sculpture to Blind Veterans UK's Burn's Night auction.

Its just a few days until the Llandudno Centre teams Burns Night Whisky Tasting and Supper, taking place 25thJanuary at the St George's Hotel Llandundo.  In addition to enjoying a sumptuous three course meal interspersed with 6 fine single malt whiskeys, attendees will also be given the opportunity to bid on lavish items such as experience days, spa treatments, golfing experiences, luxury picnic items to name but a few.

North Wales based artist Helen Robinson has kindly provided this beautiful glass piece 'Window Wave' to be featured in the auction.

Helen says "I have been a Holistic Therapist for nearly 30 years.  In 2008 i went to Glyndwr University and trained firstly as a children's illustrator and writer, then continued to MA level working in colour and glass. I have always had very keen desire to help people's mental, physical ad emotional health.  I my art work I now utilise the medium of colour and light as it passes through glass to this end. The 'Window Wave' is a bespoke piece created with fused glass, incorporating the colours of the chakras which help to bring about harmony and balance.

The piece utilises natural light, with the Window Wave lighting up when placed in direct sunlight, resulting in the room being illuminated by the colours of the rainbow. This helps to uplift the mind body and spirit, even on a physical or metaphorical rainy day.  The glass is securely displayed in a steel, powder coated frame that was made especially for this piece by a local forge in North Wales.

50% of the proceeds from the auctioning of this unique piece will be used by the Llandudno Centre to continue the provision of vital training and rehabilitation to our members.
