We are recruiting knitters and crocheters to help create a unique project – a patchwork quilt big enough to cover an armoured tank!

Blind Veterans UK is calling on the public to pick up their needles for Knit a Tank Top - a challenge to create a quilt to cover an Army tank at Shoreham Air Show this August.

Participants are being asked to knit 8 by 8 inch (20cm) squares to add to the top and help us raise money by asking for sponsorship for the project.

Blind Veterans UK's Regional Fundraiser, Rachel Chitty, said: "This a great, fun way to help raise money for Blind Veterans UK and put your knitting skills on display - being able to say that you helped create a patchwork quilt big enough to cover a tank will always be a great yarn to tell friends or family!"
