The team from CSE Forces Entertainment has been highly commended in the Live Music and the Motivation and Inspiration categories at the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) LiveCom Awards.
The awards celebrate the very best in live events and experiences during 2012, and the CSE cast and crew have been praised for the seven shows they staged for more than fifteen hundred troops serving the London Olympics.
Angie Avlianos, CSE Entertainment Manager was at the ceremony: "CSE are delighted to be recognised at the prestigious IVCA awards. It's a great honour. We are very proud to have been involved in Op Olympics and boosting the morale of our hardworking servicemen and women."
The CSE dancers, comedians and musicians entertained the Armed Forces who were working at the Olympic and Paralympic events. They performed at four Olympic sites around the capital and delivered three further shows on board HMS Bulwark in Weymouth and HMS Ocean near Greenwich.
Nicky Ness, Head of CSE Forces Entertainment said: "It's humbling to be recognised alongside so many high profile and large scale productions and we are very grateful to be able to profile the work of CSE to the wider event industry. The CSE team was proud to deliver these special Op Olympic shows to fantastic audiences, ensuring a morale boost for forces personnel working tirelessly in support of London 2012. A great job all round".
Troops based at the Op Olympic sites were very appreciative of the CSE performances. Wing Commander 'Baz' Bazalgette was Commandant of Hainault Temporary Domestic Accommodation during the Games and was thrilled to hear that CSE had been praised at the IVCA LiveCom Awards. He said: "I still have vivid memories of the superb show they put on for the Air Force, Navy and Army personnel stationed in North East London during the Olympics. We were thoroughly entertained by the comedians, stunning dancers and live bands; by the end of the show we even had a full-on mosh-pit!
"Although our personnel were generally thrilled to be part of London 2012, they were working long hours on what could be somewhat repetitive tasks. The CSE show gave a huge lift to morale during the 'slump' between the main Games and the Paralympics. It was talked of for days and stands out as a highlight of our three months in a field last year. Well done to the team for their awards and thanks again for an excellent show."
