Outdoor fun in Torquay for this year’s Activity Week

For this year’s Blind Veterans Activities Week, 11 members from Brighton Centre headed down to Torquay for four days of outdoor fun.

Organised by the Blind Veterans Sports and Recreation team, our members got to try out a range of sports from rock climbing, raft building and coasteering to having a go on zip wires. They then took an overnight river trip, canoeing along the River Dart and then setting up camp, which involved building their own shelters using hammocks and tarpaulin, as well as brushing up on their bush craft skills!

The fun didn't stop there. Once back in Brighton, our members were treated to a day of horseback riding and bowling, finishing off the non-stop week with a meal in Brighton marina and fancy dress party.
