The noisier the better at the Royal Parks half marathon

16 October 2013 14:30

Your support will help provide our runners with much needed encouragement as they challenge themselves to complete the race.

We need you! This is a callout for the noisiest, the most enthusiastic and cheeriest supporters of Blind Veterans UK to come along and help encourage our 19 runners in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon this Sunday 6 October 2013.

This event is a key fundraising activity for Blind Veterans UK and your support will help provide our runners with much needed encouragement as they challenge themselves to complete the race, whilst raising thousands of pounds for Blind Veterans UK

Aaron Tillyer, Community and Events Assistant, said: "We will be cheering on our runners from a point at around Mile 7 and Mile 10 on the course, all near to your meeting point of Lancaster Gate. Please note if you are late, please call me and I will try and meet you as soon as I can".

Representatives of Blind Veterans UK will take you from the meeting point at Lancaster Gate tube statin to the cheer point ready for our runners to go past. The runners will pass the cheering points from 9:30am until 12pm.

Aaron says: "You will be given a Blind Veterans T-shirt and cheering materials on arrival and will be asked to spot our runners and cheer them on - they may have their names written on their vest. Please cheer loudly and make a lot of noise so they spot us and feel appreciated!

"All our runners will be wearing a Blind Veterans running vest  - blue with a red trim and has our logo above clearly on it. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes as you will be on your feet for a few hours. The weather forecast for race day is changeable so please make sure you bring wet weather jacket and umbrella and some water and snacks to keep your energy levels up."
