Remembrance Weekend activities
There will be four main events in London for Blind Veterans UK Members over Remembrance Weekend, the main one of which is the Remembrance Parade.
You are welcome to register your interest in as many of the events as you wish. As we have been allocated limited places for the Remembrance Parade and the Festival of Remembrance, names will be chosen for those via a random ballot.
Members are welcome to bring a companion or carer for all or some of these weekend activities.
Hampstead Cemetery, London
Saturday, 8 November
11.00-12.00
This is an opportunity to remember our Founder at such an important time of the year. All Members and guests are welcome to attend a short service at Sir Arthur Pearson's Memorial at Hampstead Cemetery, London.
Royal Albert Hall, London
Saturday, 8 November
14.00-15.45 (arrive from 13.00)
The Royal British Legion has offered us 12 Grand Tier Box seats for their spectacular annual event paying tribute to all those who have lost their lives in conflicts. The dress code is day dress and lounge suit, and full size decorations may be worn if desired. Names will be drawn via a random ballot.
Trafalgar Room, London
Saturday, 8 November
18.00-22.00
A great opportunity to come together and reconnect with your fellow Members. This informal evening will take place in the club's Trafalgar Room in central London. There will be a free two-course fork buffet and the venue has a bar which accepts cash and card payments.
Whitehall, London
Sunday, 9 November
9.00-13.00
The National Service of Remembrance, held on Remembrance Sunday, is the country's greatest visual reminder of all those who sacrificed their lives for their country. This is an opportunity to participate in the parade and be part of this fantastic event.
This year, we would like to bring everyone together are recommending staying at the Premier Inn London Euston on Dukes Road. This hotel offers affordable accommodation with excellent transport links to a main station, the underground, and taxi services.
We advise booking at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.
To support and encourage a much wider attendance, Blind Veterans UK will provide a grant of £100 per room for a hotel of choice. Please note, grants are only available to Members participating in the Sunday march.
Remembrance Parade ballot
We are given a limited number of places for the Remembrance Parade so if more Members want to come than our allocation allows - and to ensure we act with transparency and fairness - attendees will be chosen via a random ballot.
Members will be notified as to whether their application has been successful no later than: 31 August 2025
