Lunch Club Driver: Oxford

Time Commitment
A few hours on the 2nd Thursday of each month
Location
Oxfordshire

Blind Veterans UK is looking for volunteers to help transport our members to our monthly lunch clubs in the Oxford area. Lunch clubs occur on the 2nd Thursday each month and are a great opportunity for our members to catch up with each other over a good meal. We love our volunteers to get involved and join the members for their meal giving you the opportunity to get to know them and hear about the incredible stories they have to tell.

If you are a driver with your own car who would be able to spare about 4 days a year to help connect Veterans from around Oxford we would love to hear from you.

By assisting our veterans in reaching the lunch club, you are helping to reduce the effects of isolation so commonly experienced by our veterans. Your positivity, friendliness and communication can make the world of difference to their day to day lives.

Volunteers need to be over the age of 18 years and able to travel independently to and from our veterans home. Reliability, punctuality and trustworthiness are essential requirements for this role as are good listening and interpersonal skills. An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and relationship boundaries is key to this role. We will give you the necessary training, induction and support to be confident and enjoy your volunteering.
