Radio Play Society Volunteer

Time Commitment
2-3 hours per week (Fridays 13:30 - 16:00)

Do you have a passion for drama and comedy and an interest in radio or theatre productions? An exciting opportunity has arisen to assist members of Blind Veterans in the running of a regular Radio Play Society at our Brighton Centre.

 Key activities

  • Reading through scripts with Blind Veterans and acting as a prompt
  • Filling in acting parts where necessary
  • Providing support to set up and operate recording and editing equipment*

(*full training provided)

  • Research material for future Radio Play Society projects

Skills required

  • A strong interest in the dramatic arts
  • Confidence operating basic recording equipment
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Awareness of challenges faced by people with a visual impairment

 We will support you with training and an induction, out of pocket expenses and ongoing support so that you can get as much out of your volunteering with us.
