We have teams throughout the UK who can work closely with you in your home and across your local area.

When you join Blind Veterans UK, your local team will be in touch with you. You can read more about them here.

Who's in the team?

Your local team is made up of rehabilitation specialists, support workers, volunteer coordinators and administrators.

They work together to support you and they're your main point of contact for Blind Veterans UK.

What they do for you

Help develop your skills

They will help you develop the skills and confidence you need to maintain your independence.

Keep you connected

They will help you get to know other blind veterans and build strong, effective support networks.

Support your wellbeing

They will help you manage your health and lifestyle and take part in purposeful activities.

Help you feel secure

They will work with you to make you feel safe and secure in your home and community.

What else do they do?

Goal setting

We'll work with you to set goals to help move you forward, and we'll help you to achieve them, no matter how big or small.

Signposting

We work with other organisations to help you maximise your independence and access the opportunities and support that you need.

Keeping you connected

We understand the impact that sight loss can have on your confidence, and know that this can often result in social isolation.

We arrange social events and activities to bring you together with your fellow blind veterans who live locally for companionship and camaraderie.

These may include coffee mornings, day trips, group telephone calls and events. We’ll let you know about what's happening in your local area.

Staying in touch

We're always easily reachable when you need us.

"I've found that I always get support from the staff when I need it, especially my Community Support Worker, Clare, and my ROVI, Karl."
