A new way for our blind veterans across the UK to get involved with activities from home.

Now more than ever, it is so important that we keep our veterans connected with each other and the world around them. Launched in September 2020, the National Creative Project is a new initiative designed to prevent our veterans from feeling socially isolated. The National Creative Project consists of three integral parts:

Creative Activities

A series of activities delivered right to our veterans' doors. Right now we are offering art and craft, written and spoken word, gardening, listening and discussion.

Creative Book

An opportunity for our veterans, volunteers and staff to document their experiences during Covid-19. There is no one form that this will take; it will be an amalgamation of many formats. Creative writing, photography and music just to name a few. This will be treasured in our archives for many years to come.

Creative Hobby Circles

A way to keep our veterans connected. By telephone or video call, we are hosting virtual get-togethers so they can talk to other veterans getting involved with the same hobbies as they are.

One of our veterans said "I felt despondent but this call has really helped to cheer me up." From a staff perspective, it's a delight and honour to bring our veterans together over the phone, throughout the pandemic and offer a holistic service.
