Member conference - Basingstoke

You are invited to attend our Member conference in Basingstoke. We also welcome your family or carer, if you would like to bring them along.

This conference will be led by Blind Veterans UK Chief Executive Adrian Bell. The purpose of this conference is to consult with you on important changes we are considering, and to gather your thoughts and feedback.

The one-day conference will start at 11am and there will be an opportunity to stay overnight afterwards to enjoy dinner and drinks together, all paid for by Blind Veterans UK.

The member conference has been allocated 50 places, so please register your interest as soon as possible to ensure your place. The deadline for your registration is 10 October 2025.

For those who do not wish to or cannot attend any of the conferences we will still be seeking your view both on charity objects and membership association and there will be further communication to follow in due course.

Event running order

Day 1: 

• Arrive at 11am
• Accommodation allocation
• Welcomes
• Lunch
• Organisational updates 
• Evening meal (circa 9pm finish)

Day 2 (for those who choose to stay overnight):

• Breakfast and farewells
• Depart by 10am

Transport

Our conferences are located to minimise travel and cost for attendees. Should you require help with transport, please liaise with your local community team in the first instance.

Evening meal 

A free three-course meal will be provided in the evening, after which Founder's Day Awards will be presented to Members who have been nominated in recognition of their remarkable achievements.

Accommodation 

We will provide free accommodation to attendees for the night of the conference. Should you require accommodation the night before, this will not be provided by Blind Veterans UK.

Dress code

We want everyone to feel relaxed, so smart casual clothing is perfect, while formal attire is not required.

Please note

You can only choose to attend one venue. Registration closes on Friday 10 October 2025. We will let you know if you've been successful via email, letter or phone call by Monday 20 October 2025. Please note, letters may take slightly longer.

Founder's Day Awards

If you’d like to nominate a fellow Member, carer or volunteer for a Founder's Day Award and want them to be in with a chance to receive their award at this event, please complete the nomination form by Friday 10 October 2025.
