As the most important date in the Blind Veterans UK diary, Remembrance is a time to come together to honour the service and sacrifice of old comrades and friends.
This year, we are organising a Remembrance weekend in Edinburgh.
Please read the details below and register your interest if you wish to attend. You are welcome to bring along a companion or carer.
We will do our very best to provide places for everyone. However, if any of the events on offer are oversubscribed, then places will be allocated via ballot.
Remembrance Weekend activities
Sunday 8 November
11.00 am
A Remembrance service will be conducted at the City Chambers, Edinburgh to commemorate the lives of all those lost.
Sunday 8 November
13.00-16.00
On the Sunday, we will host an engagement dinner at Double Tree Hilton Hotel. This is free to attend for Members and their chosen guest. Priority will be given to those attending Remembrance Sunday.
Accommodation for Sunday 8 November
We are delighted to share that Blind Veterans UK is offering a £100 contribution to our Members who need to book hotel accommodation to attend this event. Members may use this contribution at any hotel of their choice.

Grants
Grants may still be available to Members who need support should the financial outlay prohibit attendance.
Transport
If you’d like to register but feel transport costs and availability could be a barrier, we may be able to help with this. We can check if you meet our essential criteria for support when we call to confirm your place.
