Remembrance weekend activities

We are pleased to offer activities in London over Remembrance weekend to our Members and a chosen guest. It is a very special time to come together with friends and family and remember all those we have lost.

There is a huge amount to do, and you can get involved in as much or as little as you like. We have been allocated a limited number of tickets for the Festival of Remembrance. Places will be chosen via a random ballot should this event be oversubscribed.

Transport

If you’d like to register but feel transport costs and availability could be a barrier, we may be able to help with this. We can check if you meet our essential criteria for support when we call to confirm your place.

Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial Service

Hampstead Cemetery, London

Saturday 7 November

11.00-12.00

This is an opportunity to remember our Founder at such an important time of the year. All Members and guests are welcome to attend a short service at Sir Arthur Pearson's Memorial.

Festival of Remembrance

Royal Albert Hall, London

Saturday 7 November

14.00-15.45 (arrive from 13.00)

The Royal British Legion has offered us 12 Grand Tier Box seats for their spectacular annual event paying tribute to those who lost their lives. The dress code is day dress and lounge suit, and full size decorations may be worn. Names will be drawn via a random ballot.

Victory Services Club Evening

Trafalgar Room, London

Saturday 7 November

18.00-22.00

A great opportunity to come together and reconnect with your fellow Members. This informal evening will take place in the club's Trafalgar Room in central London. There will be a free two-course fork buffet and the venue has a bar, accepting cash and card payments.

Remembrance Parade, London Cenotaph

Whitehall, London

Sunday 8 November

9.00-13.00

The National Service of Remembrance, held on Remembrance Sunday, is the country's greatest visual reminder of all those who sacrificed their lives. This is an opportunity to participate in the parade and be part of this fantastic event.

Hotel accommodation

This year, we would like to bring everyone together. We recommend staying at the Premier Inn London Euston on Dukes Road. This hotel offers affordable accommodation with excellent transport links to a main station, the underground, and taxi services.

We advise booking at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.

Remembrance grants

To support and encourage a much wider attendance, Blind Veterans UK will provide a grant of £100 per room for a hotel of choice. Please note, grants are only available to Members participating in the Sunday march.

Remembrance parade ballot

We are given a limited number of places for the Remembrance parade so if more Members want to come than our allocation allows - and to ensure we act with transparency and fairness - attendees will be chosen via a random ballot.
