In The Mind’s Eye, a new book by Blind Veterans UK volunteer (and former staff member) David Castleton, pays tribute to the early men and women of our beloved charity.
Ray Hazan OBE, President of Blind Veterans UK, is featured in the book along with Gwen Obern, Maurice Aldridge, Gerry Jones, Alan Wortley and Ray Sheriff. It also includes mention of Joan Osborne, as she has known Blind Veterans UK her entire life. Joan's late father Joe Walch, who is also featured in the book, was blinded in WWI as is Joan's late husband Bob, who was blinded in France in WWII. There is also mention of Norman Perry, a member of Blind Veterans UK's Archery Club, who was blinded in WWII and is now the world's oldest
The book includes a foreword by Blind Veterans UK Chief Executive, Robert Leader.
