Military Sight Loss Champions: Education

One in five people will suffer some degree of sight loss in their lifetime.

This means there are thousands of veterans struggling with sight loss who haven't yet heard of us and don't know what we can do for them. You can choose to champion sight loss yourself or get in touch so we can work to educate others together.

Request a speaker

We have charity ambassadors and trained experts who are well-versed in sharing useful information, along with their extraordinary personal accounts of living with sight loss and their time in service. If you'd like us to attend your mess, talk to a military association about eye health or request an inspirational speaker to support your event, we're here to help.

Keeping the spirit of the military alive

Our inspirational speakers, like blind veteran Rob, bring past military events to life through their extraordinary personal stories.

Rob served in Afghanistan with a specialist unit of the Royal Artillery responsible for tracking insurgent activity, until a devastating blast nearly claimed his life at 23. He suffered horrific injuries including the loss of both his eyes.

Fortunately, we were there to help Rob regain his independence and, today, he’s living a truly remarkable life as a proud father and martial arts champion.
