National Creative Project (NCP)
Request a kit
Every month, we put together a selection of VI-friendly creative activities for you to do from the comfort of your own home.
You'll find our April project of activities below. For more information and to request a kit, simply fill in the form.
What's our NCP?
Our NCP is for all our Members, whether you loved arts and crafts prior to your sight loss and need a helping hand to continue, or you're simply looking for something to occupy your time.
It's available to all Members and is especially popular with those unable to visit one of our centres or who simply enjoy engaging in a creative project in a comfortable environment.
You may have taken part in arts and crafts activities prior to your sight loss and feel unsure how to continue them, or you may just be looking for something to occupy your time.
We'll send you everything you need to complete your creative activity, plus easy to follow, step-by-step large print instructions, as well as audio instructions on a USB stick or on email by request.
Yes! The instructions are written with a VI user in mind, with tactile prompts and image descriptions, offering a more bespoke project than something you'd find in a craft store.
Jeep model
We hope you enjoy this 71-piece vehicle model. The kit comes with step-by-step graphic instructions and hints and tips to help orientate the pieces. (Moderate difficulty or confident beginners)
Tutti frutti mandala mosaic
We’ve redesigned our popular mandala mosaics to feature larger tiles. This design is made up of bright, fruity coloured circular and square tiles in concentric circles and is slightly easier than our usual mandalas. As always, tiles will be separated for you into labelled bags with a step-by-step large print instruction guide. (Suitable for beginners)
Holiday landscapes
This kit has been created to help you enjoy the calming, expressive nature of watercolour painting, using soft washes of colour inspired by the feeling of summer − from quiet beaches and bright gardens to peaceful countryside paths. You’ll receive a palette of 36 watercolour tablets, a variety of brushes, watercolour paper, and some high contrast masking tape to explore this versatile art technique. (Suitable for all – beginners & experienced artists)
Also available
There are still some packs of Surprise seeds available for those who haven’t had them yet, or if you would like spares. We will send out basil, cornflower, spring onion & carrot seeds & a fact sheet on how to cultivate these in your gardens.
Please note
There may be a short delay in dispatching projects throughout April – there is enough stock to go round. Many thanks for your patience!
Give us your feedback
We'd love to hear your thoughts on our activities. Your feedback is so valuable as it helps shape the work we do, so we really appreciate it when you complete and return the surveys in your kits.
We’d also love to see your finished creations! Do email us a photo of yourself with your work and let us know how you got on with it.
