What's our NCP?

Our NCP is for all our Members, whether you loved arts and crafts prior to your sight loss and need a helping hand to continue, or you're simply looking for something to occupy your time.

Who's it for?

It's available to all Members and is especially popular with those unable to visit one of our centres or who simply enjoy engaging in a creative project in a comfortable environment.

Why take part?

You may have taken part in arts and crafts activities prior to your sight loss and feel unsure how to continue them, or you may just be looking for something to occupy your time.

What's in a kit?

We'll send you everything you need to complete your creative activity, plus easy to follow, step-by-step large print instructions, as well as audio instructions on a USB stick or on email by request.

Can I do it?

Yes! The instructions are written with a VI user in mind, with tactile prompts and image descriptions, offering a more bespoke project than something you'd find in a craft store.

Camper van model

This is a slightly more complex vehicle model with 70 pieces in total. It will come with a step-by-step guide to help you place the pieces. This would be a great model to try painting with acrylic or water-based paints to make a brightly coloured design! Finished model is 10cm height x 10 cm width x 23cm length. (Confident beginners or more experienced model makers)

Butterfly mosaic

We’ve designed this mosaic with the help of member and mosaic artist Paul. You’ll receive a butterfly base, and your tiles will be separated into labelled bags for you, with a step-by-step pattern guide. This pattern allows for a more individual approach: there are some parts where you can experiment and add your own personal touch with mixed bags of “filler” tiles. (Reasonably complex, some experience needed)

Locomotive model

We have had a lot of requests for model vehicles, particularly trains. We really hope you enjoy this model of a locomotive. Some of you may have done this before, but you are welcome to take part again! This is a simpler model than some of our others with 30 pieces. The finished model is 13cm high, 23cm long and 8cm wide. (Suitable for beginners & more confident model makers)

Ice cream mosaic

We enjoyed designing this summery mosaic for you to take part in! The design has 5 steps to follow and your tiles will come pre-sorted into labelled bags for you. The design is a vanilla ice cream with either chocolate or strawberry sauce, and a chocolate dipped cone – unfortunately made of tiles and not edible! (Suitable for confident beginners)

We have designed this papercraft kit for those of you who enjoy collage artwork. Inside your pack will be a variety of paper and card in complimentary colours. There will be some blank greetings cards enclosed, and a small blank notebook in case you want to make a scrapbook. This kit makes a lovely long-term project to dip in and out of.
